WHAT IS A SOLAR ECLIPSE

A solar eclipse happens when, at just the right moment, the Moon passes between the Sun and Earth. Sometimes the Moon only blocks part of the Sun's light. This is called a partial solar eclipse. Other times, the Moon blocks all of the Sun's light. This is called a TOTAL SOLAR ECLIPSE.

WARROORA VIEWING

Whilst Exmouth is in complete darkness for just over a minute, Warroora Station will experience a deep partial solar eclipse with over 98.13% of the sun being covered as the sun, moon, and earth align in unison.

PLANNING YOUR JOURNEY

If you are travelling to the region to experience the Ningaloo Eclipse, be patient and be prepared. With extra visitors travelling to Exmouth for the Ningaloo Eclipse road, users should be prepared for the traffic conditions. Be aware that there may be large stretches of roads that have limited fuel stations. Always calculate your trip and fuel supplies. Please note that we might experience road closure due to rainfalls.

WATER & FOOD

It is recommended to purchase your food and water supplies before starting your journey. The last pit stop is Carnarvon Woolworths or local IGA.

GLASSES

You should never attempt to observe a total eclipse with the naked eye. There are several ways to observe an eclipse for more information, visit the ARPANSA website.

PETS

Pets are welcome at Warroora but must be kept on a leash at all times. Please note that no pets will be allowed in the Exmouth viewing site.
